Combolands Warehouse: release stored points with a real trigger

Updated Oct 5, 2026

Points inside a Warehouse are stored, not scored — they pay out only when an outside trigger from another building or a potion releases them, and then the Warehouse empties and starts accumulating again. That is the accepted answer in the Warehouse thread. So the real task is choosing a trigger you can actually fire on purpose; without one, the Warehouse is a piggy bank you never open.

Stored is not scored

The Warehouse’s display lulls players into counting unearned points: accumulation happens on its own track, but nothing reaches your score until a release event. Players in the thread describe realising their “banked” total had contributed nothing for weeks. Before anything else, watch one accumulation cycle and name the building or potion that will eventually crack the store open — if you cannot name one, the Warehouse is not yet doing a job.

Documented behaviour from the Warehouse thread. The sources give no storage formula or release multiplier, so this page prints none.

Pick a trigger you can actually fire

Two documented trigger styles suit different runs. A random source like the pictured Ballista fires on its own timer but picks its facing at random — releasing the Warehouse only when the dice point its way. A directional source like the Post Office relay is conditional but aims: put the Warehouse on the receiving end of a chain you already control. Potions are the third documented route and the most deliberate of all. Choose per run: random sources tolerate misses, aimed chains cost setup.

The pictured Ballista is an independent timer with a random target. Fine as a release source if you accept that some cycles will not hit the Warehouse.

After the release: empty, then rebuild

Players confirm the store empties on release and accumulates again afterwards, which changes how you value trigger timing: an early release on a small store pays small, while waiting risks the milestone ending with points still locked inside. Since no verified storage formula exists, the practical rule is to release when the store looks worth the trigger rather than to optimise an equation nobody has published. If release events keep landing while the store is nearly empty, your trigger outpaces accumulation — slow the trigger or grow the source of stored points.

What a Warehouse is not

  1. Not the resource-event scorer: the highest-difficulty thread explicitly corrects this — resource creation feeds the Tool Shed, not the Warehouse. That engine lives on the Depot and Tool Shed page.
  2. Not self-releasing: sitting next to producers does not crack it open. The trigger must come from outside, per the accepted answer.
  3. Not a multiplier play by default: do not assume mult interacts with the stored pool the way you hope — read the live card and the multiplier rules before investing.
  4. Not always worth keeping: if no trigger exists in your run, the tiles and the card slot usually serve a working scorer better. The four-link check makes that call concrete.

Behaviour and the accepted answer come from the Warehouse thread (Aug 31, 2026), the Tool Shed correction from the highest-difficulty thread, and the Ballista card from Cube’s Aug 29 guide, all read Oct 5, 2026. No storage formula or current-client test is claimed.
