Combolands Conduit: give it a trigger, then check its range

Updated Oct 3, 2026

Conduit needs another building to trigger it first. One documented route is a working source directly below Post Office, with Conduit directly above it: the source fires, Post Office relays upward, and Conduit can then trigger up to two buildings in its shown range. A Way Station is another possible upstream source if its adjacent-building trigger reaches Conduit. Railroad can share adjacency, but does not start an event on its own.

  1. Give Conduit a trigger
  2. Check what it can reach
  3. Find the quiet link

Feed Conduit a real trigger

Start with a building you have already seen fire. Place that source directly below Post Office and Conduit directly above the Office. Wait for the lower source's actual event before judging the relay. This isolates the first three links; a quiet source cannot activate either building above it.

Follow this source → Office → Conduit relationship from bottom to top. This is a role diagram, not a screenshot, exact tile map or promise of a repeating loop.

If you have a Way Station instead, test its trigger of an adjacent building with Conduit as the intended recipient. Railroad may change what counts as adjacent, so use the current placement preview to check that relationship. Watch whether Conduit actually receives a trigger; proximity or railroad connection alone does not prove that it did. The Post Office guide covers the controlled below-to-above relay in more detail.

Then check Conduit's possible targets

Once Conduit receives a trigger, the player guide describes it as triggering up to two buildings in range. The relevant area is Conduit's own shown range, not every building connected to the source or to Post Office. Put useful buildings inside that shown area and observe which, if any, responds. Do not plan around a chosen target always firing.

Up to two possible in-range recipients, not two guaranteed hits. The current card and placement preview determine which buildings are in range; these boxes do not represent exact tiles.

Find the first link that stayed quiet

  1. No source event: make the lower building or Way Station fire on its own first. A card sitting nearby is not yet an event.
  2. Source fires, Conduit stays quiet: recheck the Post Office direction or the Way Station's actual adjacent-building relation. Put Conduit above Post Office for that route, not below it.
  3. Conduit fires, expected target stays quiet: inspect Conduit's shown range and the buildings inside it. “Up to two” is not a promise to hit your preferred building.

If the chain still looks connected, use the broader source, position, target and timing check before adding another relay. Leave exact range shape and any wait condition to the card visible in your run.

The Conduit, Way Station and Post Office relations above come from emgeal's Sep 6 player guide, read Oct 3, 2026. They are an attributed route, not our own current-client test or a guaranteed target recipe.
